"Education in Zion" hosts date night Oct. 14

Brigham Young University’s “Education in Zion” exhibition at the Joseph F. Smith Building will be hosting a date night Friday, Oct. 14. Activities will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and include a scavenger hunt, live music, food and more.

“Date night at the Education in Zion Gallery will be a fun and meaningful activity,” said Heather Seferovich, gallery curator. “Just show up with a date, and we’ll provide the entertainment and treats.”

The gallery and permanent exhibit explore a tradition of learning that aims to educate the whole soul and documents the rich history and heritage of education in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the revelations of the Prophet Joseph Smith to the current worldwide Church Educational System.

“Education in Zion” opened in fall 2008 and is now under the direction of the Harold B. Lee Library. The exhibit includes inspiring stories shared through film, artwork, photographs and letters thoughtfully displayed in the open gallery space with several conversation areas that offer visitors a stunning view of the Wasatch Mountains.
