David B. Schlotthauer named president of Intermountain Sports Turf Managers Association

David B. Schlotthauer, turf renovation supervisor for the Brigham Young University Grounds Department, was recently elected the inaugural president of the Intermountain Chapter of the Sports Turf Managers Association.

Schlotthauer’s work with the organization was instrumental in the formation of the Intermountain Chapter, which encompasses Utah, western Wyoming and southeast Idaho.

The Sports Turf Managers Association was formed in 1981 with a mission to improve sports turf through the sharing of knowledge and the exchange of ideas. Headquartered in Lawrence, Kan., the association sponsors 28 chapters nationwide and is one of the fastest growing entities in the industry.

In addition to his new duties, Schlotthauer will continue to serve on the bylaws committee of the national association.
