DATE CHANGED: BYU Faculty Piano Trio presents recital Feb. 12

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents the Faculty Piano Recital featuring faculty members Jeffrey Shumway, Monte Belknap and Julie Bevan Reed on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Shumway will play the piano, Belknap will play the violin and Reed will play the cello.

The three will perform the Piano Trio in D Major, Op. 70, No. 1, "The Ghost" by Ludwig van Beethoven and the Piano Trio in G Minor, Op. 15 by Bedrich Smetana.

Shumway is a professor of piano and head of keyboard studies. He received his bachelor's degree in music from BYU, his master's of music from Juilliard School of Music and his doctor of music from Indiana University.

Belknap received his bachelor's and master's in violin performance from the University of Cincinnati and is currently the coordinator of the violin area.

Reed received her bachelor's in cello performance from BYU and her master's in cello performance from the University of Southern California. She is currently coordinator of the string division and the chamber music program.
