Cougar Queries: "I almost made it onto a Swedish TV show this summer"

Cougar Queries is a series profiling BYU employees by asking them a few simple questions about their work, interests and life.

Name: Natalie Tripp
BYU employee since: 2012
My job at BYU is? Communications Specialist and Admissions Representative with Student Academic and Advisement Services (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office)

Currently I'm working on? Creating content for the BYU Admissions and BYU OneStop social media platforms.

I get most excited about my work when? I'm able to help students achieve their dream of coming to BYU. Attending BYU as a student made all the difference in where I am today, and it's so fulfilling to work with high school students who are just starting their journey!

When I tell people I work for BYU, they often say? "How does your dad feel about that?" I was raised in a very "red" family, and choosing to attend (and later work at) BYU was a little shocking for most people, but it's been one of the best decisions I've ever made. BYU is home.

My go-to BYU Creamery ice cream flavor is? Graham Canyon

My favorite BYU tradition is? every year I make a T-shirt quilt of the BYU T-shirts I collect throughout the year.

I've hiked Y Mountain... too many times to count! I run the trail to train for my triathlons and I'm running my first Ironman this summer.

My favorite Cougar athlete is? Skyler Halford. I have nothing but good things to say about his energy and leadership on the court.

My most cherished memory at BYU was when? my fellow classmate, Garrett Tenney, and I made history our senior year when we swept the William Randolph Hearst National Journalism competition, each taking first place for television and radio news reporting. No university had ever done that before and it was the perfect ending to an undergraduate education.

On Saturday mornings you'll find me? at Hogle Zoo. I've always loved wildlife and I volunteer as a docent at Hogle, helping zoo guests get up close and personal with some of the animals.

The title of my autobiography would be? Incurable Adventurer. If I'm not at my desk, I'm most likely off exploring the world. I almost made it onto a Swedish reality television show this summer. The show is focused on family history, which I'm fairly passionate about.

My favorite sayings are? "Whether you think you can, or think you can't-you're right.? "Henry Ford.
