Cougar Club hosts Pro Football Hall of Fame Send-Off for Steve Young July 30

The Brigham Young University Cougar Club will present “Steve Young’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Send-Off” Saturday, July 30, at 7 p.m. in the Smith Fieldhouse.

Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

“Steve will be honored for the tremendous influence his abilities and personality have had on BYU football and for the positive attention he has attracted to the university, the state of Utah and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” said Greg Vehar with the BYU Cougar Club.

Speakers for the occasion will be BYU and NFL quarterback Steve Young, former Utah Jazz player Thurl Bailey and former BYU and U.S. Olympic Soccer Team member Aleisha Cramer Rose. Also performing during the event will be popular pianist Jon Schmidt.

Prior to the event there will be an open house from 4 to 6:30 p.m. showcasing Legacy Hall, the Indoor Practice Facility and the Student Athletic Building.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
