Correction: BYU Philharmonic with faculty soloists to perform Nov. 28

Kory Katseanes will conduct the Brigham Young University Philharmonic Orchestra concert Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. A print edition of the YNEWS incorrectly listed the concert for Nov. 30.

Admission will be $9 or $6 with a BYU or student ID. Tickets can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office, by calling (801) 422-7664 or by visiting performances.byu.edu.

The program will include the Overture to "Oberon" by Carl Maria von Weber, the Concerto for clarinet and viola, Op. 88 by Max Bruch featuring BYU School of Music faculty members Jaren Hinckley on clarinet and Claudine Bigelow on viola, and the Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47 by Dmitri Shostakovich.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
