Conference on Religious Freedom to be held at BYU, July 7-8

BYU will host a conference designed to help citizens better understand religious freedom, including what’s behind the current headlines and what individuals can do to protect this core First Amendment right. The BYU Religious Freedom Annual Review, scheduled for Thursday-Friday, July 7-8, at the BYU Conference Center in Provo, Utah, will bring together some of the leading thinkers on this topic.
Elder Lance B. Wickman, general counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an emeritus General Authority Seventy, and Utah Valley University President Matthew S. Holland will be among the speakers at this year's conference.
Hosted by the BYU International Center for Law and Religion Studies at the J. Reuben Clark Law School, this two-day conference is open to the public and will include sessions and workshops focusing on political trends and religious freedom, understanding media coverage of religion, protecting religion in the workplace and the role of interfaith cooperation in protecting religious freedom.

The J. Reuben Clark Law School rocketed up to No. 29 in the 2022 edition of the U.S. News Best Graduate School Rankings, leading a group of five BYU graduate programs that earned top marks.
Roughly 120 local first responders were assisted in completing their basic estate planning documents, free of charge, as BYU Law sponsored it’s second Wills for Heroes project last week.
Elder David A. Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spoke about the government's role in protecting religious freedom at the 2020 Religious Freedom Annual Review hosted by the Brigham Young University Law School.
