The Commons at the Cannon Center welcomes faculty, staff, students

The BYU campus community is invited to check out one of the newest dining facilities on campus, The Commons at the Cannon Center, which brings an international flair to BYU. Instead of carrying on the cafeteria-style of its predecessor at Helaman Halls, The Commons has a unique environment with a variety of food from around the world.

At the fusion station, customers can satisfy their Mexican taste buds with enchiladas, burritos and chiles rellenos. Other options include lasagna, manicotti, Freshetta pizza and casseroles. The exhibition station features Italian pastas like fettuccine, rigatoni or spaghetti and meatballs.

Next is the Euro kitchen, complete with a tandoori oven, wok and rotisserie. Chefs in this area specialize in grilled salmon, stir-fry, orange chicken and roast turkey. The salads and wrap station is located in the center of the eatery. Items include couscous and vegetables, Thai noodle salad and southwestern chicken fajita salad.

The grill provides guacamole bacon burgers, quesadillas, chili dogs and popcorn shrimp. Lastly, customers can complete their meals with selections from the granary, including BYU brownies, cookies, rice krispy treats, pudding and cheesecake.

In addition to providing a variety of food, The Commons uses high-efficiency dishwashers, saving energy, money and water. The fryers operate at a lower temperature and reuse oil throughout the day. Leftover food is put into pulpers and later repurposed as mulch.

Visit dining.byu.edu for more information on The Commons.
