Claudine Bigelow plans BYU faculty viola recital Feb. 5

The Brigham Young University School of Music presents faculty member Claudine Bigelow in a viola recital Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free.

Bigelow will be assisted by Jeffrey Shumway on the piano and Monte Belknap on the violin.

Bigelow will perform pieces by composers Robert Cundick, Johan Halvorsen and Ernest Bloch.

She is currently head of viola studies and chamber music coordinator for the School of Music. She received her bachelor's and master's of music degrees from BYU and her doctor of music degree from the University of Maryland.

Bigelow has performed with a variety of orchestras and symphonies throughout the United States including the National and Utah Symphony, Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra, National Chamber Orchestra and at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
