CES Fireside Sept. 12 to feature Elder Richard G. Scott

Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will speak in a Church Educational System fireside at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Brigham Young University’s Marriott Center.

The fireside will be broadcast live on BYU-TV and BYU Radio only. Visit byub.org for rebroadcast information.

Elder Scott, born in Pocatello, Idaho, and raised in Washington, D.C., was sustained as an apostle in 1988. Prior to serving with the Twelve, he was a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy and the Presidency of the Seventy.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from George Washington University and completed post-graduate work in nuclear engineering at Oak Ridge, Tenn.

CES firesides for married and single young adults, ages 18 through 30, are held five times each year and are broadcast from one of the Church’s educational campuses, including BYU. The full schedule can be found at lds.org/broadcast.
