Carri Jenkins to present BYU devotional address Nov. 8

Carri Jenkins, assistant to the president for University Communications at Brigham Young University, will speak Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the Marriott Center for a campus devotional.

Live broadcasts are available on KBYU-TV (Channel 11), BYU-Television, KBYU-FM (89.1), BYU-Radio and byubroadcasting.org, as well as on campus in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and the Varsity Theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. Rebroadcast information is available at www.byubroadcasting.org.

As spokesperson for the university, Jenkins will discuss what it means to be a spokesperson—at BYU and in the Kingdom of God—a role that each one of us plays.

“The spokesperson role at BYU is shared by many individuals, including the students, faculty and staff,” Jenkins said. “I hope my address will encourage everyone at the university to embrace the tremendous opportunities they have to represent the university.”

A Utah native, Jenkins received bachelor's and master's degrees from BYU in communications. She is a former associate editor of BYU Magazine, the university’s alumni publication, and has also been an instructor in the BYU Communications Department, a university speech writer and a publicity director. Prior to her current position, she was the director of Media Communications at BYU.

Associated with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) since the 1980s, Jenkins has served on the CASE District VII board of directors and is now serving on the district’s executive board.

Jenkins is a past president of the Consortium for Utah Women in Higher Education and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, where she received a Communicator of the Year Award from her local chapter.
