BYU's Terry Ball to discuss "Faith and the Scientific Method" Sept. 24

Terry Ball, chair of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University, will present "Faith and the Scientific Method" Friday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium.

"It is possible for people of faith to also excel in scientific disciplines," says Ball, who is an active researcher in the field of archaeobotany. "I hope to show that there need not be any animosity between faith and the scientific method."

The lecture is the third in the Hyrum B. Summerhays Lecture Series hosted by the BYU College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Religious Education.

The lecture series is designed to give students, faculty and members of the community a better understanding about the relationship between science and religion.

For information about the lecture series, contact Michael Rhodes at (801) 422-2445, michael_rhodes@byu.edu.
