BYU's Deseret Trio to perform Feb. 6

The Brigham Young University faculty performing group the Deseret Trio will perform a free recital on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

The trio includes School of Music faculty members Monte Belknap on the violin, Julie Bevan on the cello and Jeffrey Shumway on the piano. They will perform Faure’s Trio in D minor, Op. 120 and Beethoven’s Trio in B flat minor, Op. 97.

Shumway recently performed at BYU as part of the American Piano Duo. Bevan was recently featured in a recital with fellow faculty member Jaren Hinckley and Belknap will perform a solo recital just five days before the trio’s performance.

He has particular expertise in the planning, design, construction and operation of public water systems. That expertise has been increasingly important (and regularly sought out) in the wake of apocalyptic wildfires that have taxed those public water systems.
