BYU's Deseret Trio, guest artists to perform Schubert in Jan. 29 recital

The Deseret Trio, composed of Brigham Young University School of Music faculty members Jeffrey Shumway, piano, Julie Bevan, cello, and Monte Belknap, violin, will appear in recital Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

The recital is free and tickets are not required.

The Deseret Trio will be joined by BYU School of music faculty members Claudine Bigelow, viola, and Eric Hansen, double bass, for a performance of Schubert's Piano Quintet in A Major, D. 667, "Die Forelle," or more commonly known as the "Trout Quintet." Written when he was only 22, the piece is among Schubert's best-known chamber works. The program will also include Schubert's Piano Trio in B-flat Major, D. 898.

For more information, contact Jeffrey Shumway at (801) 422-4922 or jeff_shumway@byu.edu.
