BYU's dancEnsemble to conduct "Dynamic Dialogue" March 20-21

Brigham Young University’s dancEnsemble modern dance troupe will perform “Dynamic Dialogue” Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Richards Building Dance Studio Theatre with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 21.

All tickets are $6 and can be purchased online at www.byuarts.com, by phone at (801) 422-4322 or in person at the Harris Fine Arts Center Ticket Office.

The evening will include works by both faculty and students. “Yours Truly,” a work by undergraduate Christine Tarabilda, explores the power of communication in letter writing. “Writing letters is something that our society is starting to shy away from,” she said. “There is power in the joy, or sometimes sorrow, that one envelope can contain.”

Other student works will include “Miao Mystique” by Rebecca Bowen Downs and “Rancor” by Tricia Ragsdale.

Faculty member Kori Wakamatsu’s work “NCompass” will address the complexities of making small decisions that affect the outcomes of our lives. “It’s about finding your personal compass so that your life may go in the way the Lord has prepared you,” she said.

Pam Musil, dancEnsemble artistic director, will premiere her work “Empty Seats,” reflecting the heartache experienced by parents of wayward children and hope of eventual return.
