BYU Women's Chorus celebrates 50 years with April 1 concert

The Brigham Young University Women's Chorus will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a concert Friday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Jean S. Applonie, conductor of the Women's Chorus, will be joined by graduate assistant Matthew Nielsen and accompanists Halie Augustus and Bethany Richards for a wide-ranging evening of music.

The program is divided into "Songs of Praise," including the premieres of Psalm 96 by Jared Oaks and "Angele Dei" by Lindsay Goodson; "Three Beloved Hymns," with two arrangments by Applonie; "Especially for Children"; and "Timeless Spirituals."
