BYU Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band plan joint performance Oct. 29

The Brigham Young University School of Music’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will perform a combined concert Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

Tickets are $11, or $8 with a BYU or student ID. To purchase tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or visit byuarts.com.

The Wind Symphony, conducted by Donald Peterson, will perform “Masque” by Kenneth Hesketh; an Irish tune from “Country Derry,” commonly known as “Danny Boy;” and “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy A. Grainger. Their performance will also include a march from “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith.

Conducted by Kirt Saville, the Symphonic Band will perform “Second Prelude” by George Gershwin, arranged by John Krance; “The Danserye” by Tielmann Susato, arranged by Patrick Dunnigan; and “Resonances I” by Ron Nelson.
