BYU Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band combine for March 1 concert

The Brigham Young University School of Music’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will perform a combined concert Wednesday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or online at performances.byu.edu for $9 or $6 with BYU or student ID.

The Wind Symphony, conducted by David Blackinton, will perform “Band Dances” by Murray Boren, “Strike” by Stephen Jones and Sonata for Horn No. 1 by Laurence Lowe with Rob Davis on the horn.

Conducted by Donald Peterson, the Symphonic Band will perform “A Suite of English Dances” by Ernest Tomlinson, “Three Tragic Ballads” by Percy Grainger and “Old Home Days” by Ives and Elkus.
