BYU Vocal Point’s latest album showcases a cappella ‘spectrum’

Tickets now on sale for Saturday, April 12, release party

Brigham Young University’s celebrated male a cappella group, BYU Vocal Point, is following up on their best-selling album of hymns and inspirational songs, Lead Thou Me On, with an all-new contemporary album. Released today, April 8, Spectrum showcases the group’s signature take on popular songs from yesterday and today. The album is produced by BYU Records.

Using the imagery of a spectrum as the group’s inspiration, the new album is an eclectic collection of musical genres ranging from classical to pop and from Broadway to rock. In addition to showcasing a wide scope of musical styles, the latest Vocal Point album complements its unique talents by using a spectrum of colors and energies available with today’s digital-recording advancements.

“You will not only recognize the pure warmth of genuine a cappella, but Spectrum will introduce you to some great new sound colors that add sparkle and dynamic range to that recognizable Vocal Point groove,” said Vocal Point Director and Spectrum Producer McKay Crockett.

Songs on Spectrum include “Good Time,” “Brave,” “Dare You to Move,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Beat It,” “Happy” and more.

Spectrum can be purchased at Deseret Book, Seagull Book, BYU Bookstore, iTunes, Amazon.com, BYUMusicStore.com and bookstores around the country.

To celebrate the launch of Spectrum, Vocal Point is hosting a CD Release Party on Saturday, April 12, at The Wall in the Wilkinson Student Center at BYU.
