BYU Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony join forces for concert Dec. 4

Brigham Young University’s Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will join in concert Tuesday, Dec.4, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets, ranging from $6 to $10, are available through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, (801) 422-4322. They can also be purchased online at byuarts.com/tickets.

The performance will feature a variety of musical styles, from the Irish tune “County Derry (Danny Boy)” to the infectious Latin rhythms of Marques’ Danzon No. 2.

The Symphonic Band, conducted by Kirt Saville, is one of BYU’s full concert bands comprised of 85 musicians. The Wind Symphony, conducted by Donald Peterson, is BYU’s top symphony consisting of the finest woodwind, brass and percussion players at the university.
