BYU Symphonic Band to present "A Taste for Suites" Feb. 25

The Symphonic Band at Brigham Young University, conducted by Kirt Saville, will perform “A Taste for Suites,” with guest trumpet soloist Jason Bergman, on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $6 and can be purchased through the Fine Arts Ticket Office (801) 422-2981, or online at BYUArts.com/tickets.

The program includes selections from musical suites by Gustav Holst, William Grant Still, Ernest Tomlinson, Dimitri Shostakovich, Darius Milhaud and Philip Sparke.

The Symphonic Band features approximately 85 student musicians performing full concert band instrumentations.

Bergman joined the music faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi in the fall of 2010.  As a performer, he has performed throughout the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom and South America.  Bergman is currently Principal Trumpet of the Mobile Symphony and Mobile Opera Orchestras and has been a member of the Gulf Coast Symphony, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, and Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.
