BYU Studies plans special issue on Joseph Smith chronology

BYU Studies at Brigham Young University is devoting its February 2008 issue to a chronology of the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith. This comprehensive chronology tracks the life of the first president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on a week-to-week basis and shows his involvement as a prophet, revelator, husband, father, brother, friend, citizen, city builder, public speaker and religious leader.

“The color-coded chronology will help readers better place the events of Joseph’s life in order to see connections and interrelationships,” said senior associate editor Roger Terry. “The day-by-day categories are broken into the following areas: personal life, visions and revelations, writings, ecclesiastical duties, legal events, travels, political events.”

A full-color sample is available online at byustudies.byu.edu/dailypdfs/chronologysample.pdf.

For more information about BYU Studies and how to obtain the chronology, visit the BYU Studies Web site at byustudies.byu.edu or call (801) 422-6691. For full-time BYU employees, a one-year subscription to the quarterly scholarly journal is $10. The Joseph Smith chronology, if purchased separately, will sell for $12.95 and will be available in March at the BYU Bookstore.
