BYU students can "ROC the Wall" before home football games

A new student event, “ROC the Wall,” will be held at The Wall in the Wilkinson Student Center every night before the Brigham Young University home football games, starting Friday, Sept. 6, at 9 p.m.

The event is free and will have a DJ, food trucks, bands, athletes and prize drawings. This Friday, Lovecapades, a British and American alternative pop rock band, will play between 10 and 11 p.m. The Wall is located in 1151 Wilkinson Student Center.

“’ROC the Wall’ is going to be one of the greatest traditions started at BYU,” said Brandon Beck, president of the BYU Student Service Association. “Not only will it get everyone excited for the football games but it will help unite our student body and show the pride we have for our team.”

Sterling May, the manager of The Wall, said he anticipates the potential that the event can have for everyone involved.

“It’s great that BYU Athletics, BYUSA and The Wall are coming together to make such a fun and unique event for BYU students,” May said.

For more information about the event, contact Amberly Asay, (801) 427-9262, amberlyasay@byu.edu, or visit thewall.byu.edu.
