BYU Singers plan pretour concert April 8

The Brigham Young University Singers will perform under the direction of Ronald Staheli on Friday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Tickets are $9 with $3 off with a BYU or student ID. For tickets, call the Fine Arts Tickets Office at (801) 378-4322 or visit http://performances.byu.edu.

The BYU Singers will sing songs from their spring tour repertoire, including "Glory to God in the Highest" by Claudio Monteverdi, "A Grand Night for Singing" by Richard Rodgers from the movie "State Fair" and "What Stood Will Stand" by Paul Halley.

The Singers will tour the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada for four weeks.

BYU Singers is a small, select choir of flexible singer-musicians. As a touring ensemble, the Singers have traveled throughout the United States, Russia, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and most recently to West Africa and Hawaii.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
