BYU Singers, Concert Choir plan joint concerts Nov. 17-18

Ronald Staheli and Rosalind Hall will conduct the Brigham Young University Singers and Concert Choir, respectively, in a joint performance Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Admission will be $9 or $6 with a BYU or student ID. Tickets can be purchased at the Fine Arts Ticket Office in the Harris Fine Arts Center, by calling (801) 422-7664 or by visiting performances.byu.edu.

The groups will perform American, Latin, German and English pieces, as well as a series of lullabies. The BYU Singers will perform "Bow Thine Ear, O Lord" by William Byrd; "Salus aeterna" arranged by Gabriel Jackson; "Under the Willow Tree" by Samuel Barber; and "Jesu, dulcis memoria" by Pierre Villette, among other selections.

The Concert Choir's program will include "Laudate nomen" or Psalm 135 set to contemporary music by Carlyle Sharpe, "Lullaby" arranged by Jaakko Mäntyjärvi and taken from "Four Shakespeare Songs"; "Goodnight Billy Joel" by Philip Lawson; and "Been Down Into the Sea" arranged by Wayland Rogers.
