BYU Singers, Concert Choir in performance Nov. 14-15

The BYU Singers, conducted by Ronald Staheli, and the Concert Choir, conducted by Rosalind Hall, will join forces in concerts Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center at Brigham Young University.

Tickets are $11, or $8 with a BYU or student ID. To purchase tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 422-4322 or visit byuarts.com.

BYU Singers will present pieces from 12th century Ireland, “Christus resurgens” and “Armaque cum scuto,” arranged by Michael McGlynn. The Concert Choir will perform religious pieces “Salvator mundi” by Herbert Howells, “Dare to Call it Good” by Thomas Tallis and “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee” by Bert Vander Hoek.

The concert will feature new and old settings of Christian texts, seasonal Shakespeare and “Un Soir de neige” by Francis Poulenc. The performance will conclude with the combined choirs singing “Whither Goest Thou, Pilgrim Stranger,” arranged by Staheli.
