BYU School of Music schedules free events March 19-22

The Brigham Young University School of Music will hostfour free music events on campus Wednesday through Saturday, March 19-22.

·Faculty artist DouglasBush, organ, will perform a Bach recital on Wednesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m.in the Madsen Recital Hall to commemorate the 323rd anniversary ofthe composer’s birth.

·The Symphony Orchestrawill perform on Wednesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.In addition to works by composers like Robert Schumann, Antonín Dvořák and Franz Joseph Haydn, the orchestra will perform“Moving, Still,” a piece by composer Peter Askim, who will attend the concertas a special guest.

·The Songwriters’Showcase will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen RecitalHall

·The Jazz Ensemble willperform on Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.
