BYU School of Music plans "Messiah" sing-in Dec. 14

The Brigham Young University community is invited to join in a beloved Christmas tradition: a "Messiah" sing-in on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend. Choruses of the oratorio will be sung by all in attendance. Soloists and instrumentalists will be selected from the BYU School of Music.

Because of limited music, participants are strongly encouraged to obtain and bring their own score. Music will be available only for those who arrive early.

"Messiah," written by George Frederic Handel, is a celebration of Christ's life, birth and Atonement.

The event is hosted by BYU MENC, a student organization of music educators, and will be directed by Joseph Hoffman.

For more information about the Messiah sing-in, contact Stephen Fairbanks by email, Stephen.fairbanks@byu.edu.
