BYU piano/voice recital to feature works by Latter-day Saint composers Nov. 2

Brigham Young University School of Music faculty artist Scott Holden, piano, and guest artist Ruth Ellis, soprano, will present a concert of classical music by Latter-day Saint composers on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission to the concert, titled “Sing a New Song,” will be free and the public is welcome to attend.

The performance will feature “Matin Song,” “He Came All So Still,” and “Spring Duet” by Arthur Shepherd; “He Hears the Cry of the Sedge,” “A Cradle Song” and “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” by Robert Cundick; “The Seasons” by Kay Hicks Ward; “Intreat Me Not To Leave Thee,” “My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord,” “Far Above Rubies” and “Give Me This Water, That I Thirst Not” by Crawford Gates; “The Coney Island Hymn” by Murray Boren; and “Trust in the Lord,” “In Thee, O Lord, Do I Put My Trust” and “Rejoice, O My Heart” by Robert Manookin.
