BYU hosts Women's Career Symposium Jan. 22

Women's Services and Resources at Brigham Young University will sponsor the Women's Career Symposium Wednesday (Jan. 22) at 5 p.m. in 3228 Wilkinson Student Center.

Speakers Ruth Todd, news anchor at KTVX News, and Kerry Hammock, academic and career advisor for the Counseling and Career Center, will focus not on what careers women should choose, but on how to handle issues women face in their career choices. They will also highlight how education plays a part in those choices.

Ruth Todd's speech, "Wife, Mother, News Anchor," will analyze the balance between family and work responsibilities. Kerry Hammock will discuss issues not commonly considered on the topic of women's careers. He will also explain the value of education for reasons other than career advancement.

The symposium, which will last about two hours, is free of charge and all are invited to attend. For more information, please call Tenley at (801) 422-4877.
