BYU hosts auditions for "The Music Man" Oct. 5-6

The Brigham Young University Department of Theatre and Media Arts will hold an open audition for this year's musical, "The Music Man," Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 5 and 6, from 6:30-11 p.m. in 165 Knight Magnum Building on the southeast corner of campus.

In order to create the Iowa community in "The Music Man," actors, singers and dancers of all ages and body types are needed to audition. Children and families are especially encouraged to audition.

Once the cast is selected, rehearsals will be held week nights and Saturday mornings.

George Nelson will direct the play. Other members of the production team include musical director Gayle Lockwood and choreographer Lisa Stoddard. Performances of "The Music Man" are scheduled for January.
