The Department of Theatre and Media Arts will present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the Pardoe Theatre, Harris Fine Arts Center, at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. No performances will be held on Sundays or Mondays. Tickets are $9 weeknights and $10 weekends with a BYU or student ID, and $7 for all seats at the matinee performance. The Dancers’ Company will portray compelling stories from the journals of the women of the Mormon Battalion in their performance “Dance in Concert: Onward, Alone.” Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Faculty artist Larry Green will present a solo recital full of the sounds of Latin American and Spanish guitar at 2:15 p.m. in the Museum of Art Auditorium. Admission is free.

The Deseret Trio — BYU faculty artists Monte Belknap, violin; Julie Bevan, cello; and Jeffrey Shumway, piano — will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.
Wednesday, Feb. 6 through Saturday, Feb. 16
BYU’s Theatre for Young Audiences will take a walk on the wild side in a new musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale “The Jungle Book” at 7:30 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $6 for weeknightsand $7 for weekends with a BYU or student ID. No performances will be held on Sunday or Monday. Tickets for the dress rehearsals at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 and 7 and the matinees at 2 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 16 will be $5. The Museum of Art will exhibit “Masterworks of Victorian Art” from the collection of Australian collector John H. Schaeffer. The exhibit will include paintings and drawings by some of the most widely acclaimed artists of the era and will provide a rare opportunity to view some of the most beautiful and well-crafted works of this period. Artwork by Nancy S. Whipple will be shown in an exhibit titled “Whimsical Journey” that will be displayed in the Main Gallery of the Harris Fine Arts Center’s Gallery 303. Admission is free.

The Department of Theatre and Media Arts will host a department forum featuring veteran actor Denny Miller at 11 a.m. in the Museum of Art Auditorium. Miller’s 50-year career has included 19 films, 138 TV commercials, 234 TV episodes—most notably 110 episodes of “Wagon Train” with Ward Bond. Admission is free.
The Utah Symphony under the direction of Keith Lockhart, will perform Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt, op. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.
