BYU Experimental Theatre Club to produce "Oedipus," "Woyzeck" Dec. 2-8

The Brigham Young University Experimental Theatre Club will debut two new productions during the week of Dec. 2-8.

“Oedipus” will run Tuesday, Dec. 4, through Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in B190 Joseph F. Smith Building, and “Woyzeck” will run Wednesday, Dec. 5, through Saturday, Dec. 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre.

Admission to both performances will be free and the public is welcome to attend.

The classic tale of “Oedipus” will be directed by Maelyn Gandola and will be given a contemporary twist with the help of modern dance, flag spinning, multimedia projections and umbrellas.

“Woyzeck,” directed by David Thorpe, is the tale of a young German soldier’s attempt to hold on to sanity in the face of constant belittlement by his superiors, his doctors and even his wife.

For more information, contact David Thorpe at (801) 404-8477.
