BYU dance ensembles to present BYU assembly Oct. 4

Performing groups from the Brigham Young University Department of Dance will present a devotional assembly Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

The assembly will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV (Channel 11) and on BYU-Television, as well as in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium and the Varsity Theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. Rebroadcast information is available at www.byubroadcasting.org.

The performing groups include the Cougarettes, International Folk Dance Ensemble, Modern Dance Company, Ballroom Dance Company and Theatre Ballet. The performing groups will each perform one of their favorite pieces from their repertoire.

“We want the student body to feel the spirit of the performers and understand more fully what an important role they play in taking our message to the rest of the world,” said Ed Austin, International Folk Dance Ensemble artistic director.

BYUSA President Adam Larson will open the assembly with a short address.
