BYU celebrates National Student Employment Week April 4-8

National Student Employment Week will be celebrated on the BYU campus April 4-8. This annual national event recognizes the important contributions student workers make in the multitude of roles they fill. During this week the nominee from BYU for National Student Employee of the Year will be announced.

BYU employs nearly 14,000 students whose hard work, creativity, skill and enthusiasm provide essential services to the university community, according to the Office of Employment Services.

Individual departments are encouraged to recognize their student employees for the unique contributions they provide. Some suggestions for celebrating student recognition are:

  • Have a potluck lunch party to honor your student employees.

  • Present awards or certificates honoring individual accomplishments.

  • Decorate an area or office door recognizing student employees.

  • Have a potluck dessert bar to celebrate the week.

  • Send thank you notes to student employees, their families and spouses. Student employees are also welcome to stop by the Student Employment Office in 2024 WSC throughout the week for goodies and prize drawings.
