BYU Bookstore, Alumni Association host Grad Fair June 30-July 1

The BYU Bookstore in conjunction with the BYU Alumni Association will host the Grad Fair on Tuesday, June 30, from noon until 6 p.m. and Wednesday, July 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the upper level of the Bookstore.

The Grad Fair, intended for all graduating students, is a fun-filled event where graduates can order their caps and gowns, according to Becky Lindsay, Bookstore marketing specialist. “Frames and class rings will be on hand for viewing prior to purchase. Also, the BYU Bookstore is providing brownies, cookies, freshly popped popcorn and prizes, including an iPod and digital camera,” she said. “Everyone can win something.”

Caps and gowns, announcements, diploma frames and class rings can also be purchased online starting June 1 at www.herffjones.com/college/byu/. A graduation reference page with cap and gown information, links to convocation and commencement schedules and links to graduation-related merchandise is available via www.byubookstore.com (click on “Graduating?”).

Cap and gown orders placed before midnight July 10, either at the Grad Fair or online, will be discounted by $10. No orders for caps and gowns will be taken between July 11 and Aug. 10. Students who miss the July 10 deadline will be able to procure a cap and gown between Aug. 11 and 14 at the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center during cap and gown pickup.

“The wait at the Hinckley Center for those who didn’t order early can be quite long,” said Deena Justice, cashier supervisor at the BYU Bookstore. “Students will definitely want to order early to avoid the long lines.”
