BYU art education student named president of national chapter

A Brigham Young University senior in art education was elected president of the National Art Education Association Student Chapter at the NAEA national convention in Boston last month.

Bart Francis was elected by undergraduate and graduate students from across the country. He will serve for three years as president-elect, president and past-president of the national student chapter. He is currently the BYU chapter president.

His responsibilities include organization of convention programs for the student chapter, service as liaison between students and the NAEA board of directors, communications with student chapters in colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and representation of students in more than 600 art education programs across the country.

Francis and 13 other BYU art education students attended the convention in Boston with the support from the Corey Nathan Belleau Scholarship Fund and the Department of Visual Arts.
