Attorney General Mark Shurtleff to speak at BYU identity theft seminar Dec. 8

Marriott School's Steve Albrecht and Zions Bank's Carl Snyder also featured

Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management in association with Zion's Bank presents "Protecting Yourself Against Identity Theft" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 in the BYU Conference Center, 770 E. University Parkway in Provo.

Speakers include Mark Shurtleff, Utah Attorney General; Steve Albrecht, associate dean of the Marriott School; and Carl Snyder, senior vice president of Zions Bank. Admission is free and parking is available directly west of the Conference Center.

The event is sponsored by the BYU Fraud Club under the direction of Albrecht.

"Fraud perpetrators look like us," Albrecht says. "There is no way to predict in advance which person will commit fraud. When compared to bank robbers, for example, they are more likely to be married, be active church members, have more children, have more education, be thought of as a good employee and be less likely to abuse alcohol."

For information, contact Wesley Read, president-elect of the BYU Fraud Club, wwr2@email.byu.edu.
