Annual University Conference set for Aug. 23-26

“That All May Be Edified of All” is this year's theme

The 2010 Annual University Conference will be held Aug. 23-26. The theme this year is taken from Doctrine and Covenants 88:122, “That All May Be Edified of All.”

The General Session will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, with a breakfast preceding the session from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Brigham Square. As the breakfast is a ticketed event and only for non-student BYU employees, reservations for tickets can be made at the AUC website beginning Monday, July 19, at 9 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16. The conference schedule is available there.

Employees who do not have personal access to the internet should make reservations through their department secretaries.

The conference is under the direction of President Cecil O. Samuelson. This annual event is for administration, faculty and staff members, both full and part-time and is not open to student personnel. It is a time for the BYU community to come together for edification, training and camaraderie.

Green-thumb dynasty: BYU landscaping wins fifth national championship in six years

For the fifth time in six years, BYU students dug, pruned and planted their way to the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition title, the March Madness of college landscaping teams. BYU bested 50 other universities in the four-day event, outscoring the second-place finisher by more than 358 points and breaking the 5000-point total for the first time in the 48-year history of the tournament.
