Annual BYU International Study programs Fall Fair Sept. 16

All Brigham Young University field study, study abroad, international internship and direct enrollment programs will be featured at the International Study Programs Fair Thursday, Sept. 16, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., at the Marigold Mall just east of the Herald R. Clark Building.

Participants can enjoy food, sign up for prizes and watch the BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble, all while exploring academic study options abroad.

Students will meet faculty directors from each program, learn what courses are offered in which countries and discover how to prepare for their international opportunity.

Many students know they want to study internationally at some point during college, but have no idea where to go or what to do while abroad.

“For most students, their international experience leads to greater graduate school or career potential,” said T. Lynn Elliott, director of International Study Programs.

Students are encouraged to plan early to incorporate an international experience into their graduation path. Many programs are filled a year or more in advance of departure. Student facilitators, who have participated in the ISP programs, can answer questions and assist students through the application process in Student Services at 101 HRCB. Additionally, financial aid options are available for qualifying students.

ISP is responsible for managing all credit-bearing international study for BYU. Administrative offices are housed in 204 HRCB, where program coordinators support colleges and departments with the logistics and management of their academic programs abroad. College deans and department chairs interested in adding international study to their academic programs are invited to contact Elliott at (801) 422-6244.
