Annual BYU Church History Symposium March 5 to focus on missionary work

The annual Brigham Young University Church History Symposium, “Go Ye into All the World,” will focus on the growth and development of missionary work in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Saturday, March 5, from 8 a.m. to noon in the BYU Conference Center.

The symposium is free, and no registration is required to attend.

Lanny Bristch, professor emeritus of history at BYU, will be the keynote and concluding speaker at 11:10 a.m. Other speakers will include Church historians Alexander L. Baugh, Susan Easton Black, Reid L. Neilson, Chad M. Orton and David J. Whittaker.

Each year, the BYU Church History Symposium, sponsored by the BYU Religious Studies Center, shares research and explores a topic of interest in the experience of the Church of Jesus Christ. Previous presenters have included notable General Authorities of the Church, historians, scholars, educators and authors. Selected papers from each symposium are published in a book by the Religious Studies Center.
