15th Annual BYU Inquiry Conference will be March 6-8

Interested students, university faculty, and the public are invited to participate in the 15th annual Inquiry Conference at Brigham Young University scheduled March 6-8. Attendance is free and open to the public.

For 15 years, the International Inquiry Conference has served as a forum for students of all disciplines to present their cross-cultural field research and as an opportunity for the university community to participate in discussions reaching beyond our campus to the international world.

Presentations by students and keynote speakers cover a variety of topics such as international development, health, gender and religion. The conference’s continued success is rooted in its commitment to featuring cross-cultural research, engaging discussion, and reflective analysis by presenters and attendees alike.

Highlights of the conference, which will be held in 238 Herald R. Clark Building, will include:

• Three full days of student research presentations, grouped thematically. Each fifteen-minute presentation is followed by a Q&A session.

• Each conference session concludes with a panel discussion featuring each of the sessions’ presenters. The 30-minute panels provide an opportunity for discussion among the presenters and with the audience about themes, issues and ideas surrounding the field research process and life overseas.

• Notable guest keynote speakers address an aspect of the field research process pertinent to his or her own research. Past keynote speakers have included BYU field studies students who have continued their education and work overseas after graduation, BYU faculty members conducting overseas cross-cultural research, and recipients of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for one-year study overseas.

The Inquiry Conference is held annually during BYU's winter semester hosted by the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies. To learn more, see the website at kennedy.byu.edu/events/inquiry.
