Every Tuesday at 11:05 a.m., students, faculty, staff and the greater BYU community attend the weekly devotional or forum address in the BYU Marriott Center.
Most devotionals and forums will be broadcast live on BYUtv, BYUtv.org (and archived for on-demand streaming) and BYUradio and will be archived on speeches.byu.edu.
Please plan to join students and employees each Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. for a truly unique experience as the campus gathers to receive spiritual and temporal edification.

About the Spring/Summer 2026 Speakers
Brian Radford
May 5, Devotional
Brian Radford is the information technology vice president at BYU and chief information officer for the Church Educational System. For more than 25 years, he has led technology strategy and teams in higher education, missionary work and private industry. His work has included a focus on using technology to strengthen learning, service and gospel-centered education.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from BYU, as well as a master’s degree and doctorate in instructional psychology and technology from BYU. Throughout his career, he has sought to apply technology in ways that bless students, faculty, missionaries and members of the Church.
Arlene Sewell
May 12, Devotional
Arlene Sewell is the portfolio director of artificial intelligence at BYU. She previously served as chief information officer at BYU–Hawaii and as a project manager in BYU’s Office of Information Technology. Her earlier roles include director of IT projects and technology services at Dixie State University, as well as associate chief information officer and director of financial aid at American Samoa Community College. She has also worked with Blue Sky Communications and the Children’s Hospital–San Diego.
Sewell earned a bachelor’s degree in information systems from BYU–Hawaii and a master’s degree in information systems security from Colorado Technical University.
Elysa Dishman

Elysa Dishman is a professor of law at BYU's J. Reuben Clark Law School. Her teaching and research focuses on the intersection of compliance, ethics and business law. She is a leading scholar on state enforcement and also serves on the governing board of ComplianceNet, an international interdisciplinary organization dedicated to compliance scholarship, and is a convener of its biannual conference.
Before entering academia, she practiced law in Washington, D.C., representing corporations and executives in enforcement actions. She later expanded her practice in Salt Lake City, advising religious and educational organizations. Dishman earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. in political science from BYU.
Jennifer Brooks

Jennifer Brooks is a professor of mathematics at BYU. Before coming to BYU in 2019, she held a faculty position at the University of Montana. She grew up in Wisconsin and earned a bachelor's degree from Ripon College and a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin.
Brooks conducts research in pure mathematics, specializing in the theory of functions of one and several complex variables. Her real passion is for teaching and mentoring. She enjoys helping students develop confidence in mathematics and has been deeply involved in graduate education in mathematics, in particular in professional development programs for young mathematicians.
Curt Holman
June 23, Forum
Curt Holman is the chair of the Department of Dance at BYU. He and his wife Sharon are former professional ballroom dance competitors. They were U.S. National finalists in the cabaret category and were twice invited to compete at the British Championships in Blackpool England as well as the World Championships in Holland.
Holman is Dual Licentiate with Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and is certified as a National and world-class adjudicator with the National Dance Council of America. He is an accomplished choreographer and his creative works have earned 12 U.S. National Cabaret titles.
Anton Bowden

Anton Bowden is a professor and the associate chair of the mechanical engineering department at BYU. He is a faculty fellow of the BYU Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership. His research interests are in spinal biomechanics, medical device design, and wearable sensor systems. His work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and several startup companies. He holds 26 US patents and has published over 115 articles and proceedings papers.
Anton received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Utah and his BS in mechanical engineering from Utah State University. His favorite collaborator is his wife Jennifer and they have published several papers together.
Bruce Brockbank

Bruce Brockbank is the head coach for the men’s golf team at BYU. His career highlights include 61 tournament wins in 31 seasons, 12 players that have gone on to play in the PGA and seven conference championships. In 2024, he was inducted in the Utah Golf Hall of Fame.
Brockbank has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in recreation management as well as a minor in health education. He played on the golf team during his time as an undergraduate and has remained a part of the team as an assistant and head coach ever since.
Jeff Bednar

Jeff Bednar is an associate professor in the management department in the Marriott School of Business at BYU. His research focuses on how leaders construct and maintain their identities, and how they respond to various identity challenges, such as legacy dynamics and the impostor phenomenon.
In addition to research, Bednar teaches courses related to organizational behavior and human resource management, and works with organizations and executives wrestling with issues related to identity, culture and leadership transitions. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from BYU as well as a PhD in management and organizations from University of Michigan.
Jamal Willis
July 28, Devotional
Jamal Willis is the assistant director of student wellness at BYU. His work experience includes time as a former high school and middle school administrator, counselor and school district athletic administrator. He holds a master’s degree in education administration and a master’s in educational counseling.
Willis grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and joined the church at the age of 21. He played four years at BYU and became the all-time leading rusher and went on to play in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers.
Rebecca Hunter
August 4, Devotional
Rebecca Hunter is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Teacher Education at BYU. After more than a decade as a public-school educator, she earned a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Utah. She also holds a master’s degree in public administration from BYU, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Utah.
Along with teaching courses in social studies methods and assessment, her research focuses on the clinical experiences of preservice teachers and processes of teacher change.
Elder Patrick Kearon
August 18, Devotional
Elder Patrick Kearon was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2024. He previously served as senior president of the Seventy Presidency and member of the Europe Area Presidency.
Elder Kearon has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United States in a range of industries and ran his own communication consultancy. His civic and community involvement has included service on the boards of charities, a school, an enterprise agency and a college.
