BYU tuition to increase 3.1 percent for 2020-2021 academic year

Brigham Young University will implement a 3.1 percent increase for undergraduate tuition for the 2020-2021 academic year. This will bring the undergraduate rate per semester from $2,895 to $2,985, an increase of $90.

The increase is intended to cover cost increases in areas such as supplies, library and laboratory materials and travel.

Next year's tuition for advanced-standing (graduate) students will be raised by three percent, from $3,645 to $3,755 per semester, an increase of $110. BYU Law and graduate Marriott School of Management students will pay $6,930, an increase of $205 from last year's rate of $6,725.

Undergraduate tuition for spring and summer terms will also increase from $1,448 to $1,493, or $45 more. Spring and summer 2020 rates for advanced-standing students will be $1,878, an increase of $55.

Students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pay twice the listed tuition rates, and those rates in 2020-2021 will also reflect the increase for undergraduate and graduate programs.

Per semester, non-member undergraduates will pay $5,970, an increase of $180; advanced-standing non-member students will pay $7,510, an increase of $220; and non-member law and business graduate students will pay $13,860, an increase of $410.
