BYU Tuition to Increase 2.5% for 2021–22 Academic Year

Brigham Young University will implement a 2.5% increase for undergraduate tuition for the 2021–22 academic year. This will bring the undergraduate rate per semester from $2,985 to $3,060, an increase of $75.

The increase is intended to cover cost increases in areas such as supplies, library needs and laboratory materials.

This announcement comes later than in years past. Due to COVID-19, some budget decisions — including tuition rates — were postponed and are now being finalized.

Next year's tuition for advanced-standing (graduate) students will be raised by 2.5% as well, from $3,755 to $3,850 per semester, an increase of $95. BYU Law and graduate Marriott School of Business students will pay $7,104, an increase of $174 from last year's rate of $6,930.

Undergraduate tuition for spring and summer terms will also increase from $1,493 to $1,530, or $37 more. Spring and summer rates for advanced-standing students will be $1,926, an increase of $48.

Students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pay twice the listed tuition rates, and those rates in 2021-2022 will also reflect the increase for undergraduate and graduate programs.

Per semester, non-member undergraduates will pay $6,120, an increase of $150; advanced-standing non-member students will pay $7,700, an increase of $190; and non-member law and business graduate students will pay $14,208, an increase of $348.
