BYU Assistant Administration Vice President Carr Krueger announced today that Brent D. Craig has been named the managing director of BYU Dining Services. In this position, Brent will oversee BYU’s foodservice operations, including ice cream production, the Cannon Commons, Catering, Creameries, Concessions, the Cougareat and MTC food services.
He comes to BYU with over 25 years of experience in nutritional food services, including director of the Douglas County School District Foodservice and Nutrition as well as director of operations for Denver Public Schools. Additionally, he has served as an advisory board member to six food manufacturers.
Craig holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from Utah State University, and a Master of Science from the University of Nebraska, and he is a graduate of the Georgetown University Executive Management Program.
He is married to Kaye Craig, and as a Provo native, he is very excited to come home. Craig’s appointment is effective March 1, 2022.
Craig will be replacing the current managing director, Dean A. Wright, who will be retiring after 32 years of service to BYU and BYU–Hawaii. “Dean’s commitment to the university is remarkable," Krueger said. "Under his leadership, BYU Dining has become an integral part of the campus experience. He was the inspiration behind the CougarTail, the Creamery on Ninth, Aloha Plate, Choices and so many other significant contributions. We thank him for all his contributions to BYU and will miss the zeal he has for collegiate foodservice.”
Krueger added that “Brent is bringing a veritable wealth of knowledge and experience to BYU. He is eager to build on Dean’s exceptional tenure and lead BYU Dining Services into the future. I have no doubt that Brent will be a great fit for BYU.”
