In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Brigham Young University Center for Service and Learning will host the seventh annual Community Outreach Day on Monday, Jan. 16.
The day of activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Wilkinson Student Center Ballroom with a free breakfast for volunteers. A devotional by Joleen Glassett, student director of the Center for Service and Learning, will follow at 8:45 a.m., and community service projects will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at approximately 2 p.m.
Service projects will include making backpacks, beanies and file folder games for children, visiting elderly care homes and sorting books and cleaning the grounds at the Provo Public Library.
Volunteers may pre-register for the activities at the Center for Service and Learning in 2330 Wilkinson Student Center through Friday, Jan. 13, or come unregistered.
