Panoramic Steel and Percussion Ensemble to present joint concert

The Brigham Young University School of Music will present a Panoramic Steel and Percussion Ensemble concert under the direction of Ron Brough Friday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Tickets are $9 with $3 off with a student ID. For tickets, call the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322 or visit performances.byu.edu.

The Percussion Ensemble will open the concert with pieces by Michael Aukofer, Maurice Moszkowsky, Lane Harder and Lynn Glassock.

Panoramic Steel will perform "Rant and Rave" by Christopher Herbert, "Bluesette" by Toots Thielman, "Sea of Stories" by Andy Narell and "Pannist's Lament" by Gary Gibson.

Members of the Percussion Ensemble include John Paul Andersen, Jeffrey Bartholomew, Celeste Cope, Jeff Holt, Ryan Nashif, Peter McClanahan, Kristi Peterson, Rob Sowby and Jenne West.

Members of Panoramic Steel include Kristi Peterson, Andrew Tolman, Trevor Goss, Celeste Cope, Daniel Adams, Seul-Ki Min, Ashley Brimley, James McMurray, Andrew Ferguson, Toni Greenhalgh, Cecile Echegoyen, Matt Nielsen, Jenne West, Jed Blodgett and Jared Morris.

BYU’s space ace: Minor planet named in honor of Jani Radebaugh

BYU planetary geology professor Jani Radebaugh’s contributions to planetary science have reached cosmic proportions as she recently received the prestigious honor of having a minor planet named her. The asteroid, previously known as “45690,” now bears the name “45690janiradebaugh” on official NASA/JPL websites.
