Mrs. Fields executive to discuss foreign marketing Dec. 7 at BYU

Dale Thompson, marketing vice president and bakery brand co-leader for Mrs. Fields, will present a Global Awareness Lecture titled “Marketing Fundamental for Foreign Businesses” Wednesday, Dec. 7, at noon in 238 Herald R. Clark Building at Brigham Young University.

Thompson joined Mrs. Fields about a year ago, marketing Mrs. Fields Cookies, Great American Cookies, Pretzelmaker and Pretzel Time brands.

Since 2002, he had been consulting with food companies in Japan and working with local start-ups, during which time he helped the Tybera Development Group with strategic plans.

He served as president of Kellogg Japan, after working for Citibank as part of a global team charged with positioning mutual funds to consumers. At Campbell’s Soup he managed icons such as Chicken Noodle and Tomato soups, which led to his move to Japan to run a joint venture.

He received a master’s in business administration in 1985 from BYU.

This lecture will be archived online. For more information on Kennedy Center events, see the calendar and News online at http://kennedy.byu.edu.
