Group for New Music, Experimental Music will host recital Feb. 3

Brigham Young University's Group for New Music and Group for Experimental Music will perform under the direction of Christian Asplund Thursday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Admission is free.

The concert will feature music by Asplund, Giacinto Scelsi, Igor Stravinsky and Steven Ricks.

Group for New Music is an outlet for new contemporary music which has not been played before or is not well known in the music industry.

Group for Experimental Music consists of musicians who meet regularly and generate compositions and improvisations through rehearsal and discussion.

Performers in the concert include Ellinor Bergqvist, Jeremy Bowen, Joseph Jensen, John Kovalenko, Steven Liening, Ryan Moore, Megan Mueller, Margot Murdoch, Hales Swift, Jenny Anderson, Stephen Fairbanks, Rachel Jones, Scott Holden, Bonnie Hopper and Cecilia Hone.
